I was nervous about coming after reading some reviews, but the room was a pleasant surprise when we arrived and got settled. It was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was clean too. There were a couple of little things: the lampshades were old and battered, there was a kettle but no tea, coffee, or mugs, and the two-liter bottle of water came without glasses. Honestly, I’m being picky, those were the only downsides. Dinner had lots of salads and sweet treats, plus nice soup, pasta, chicken, and fish. It wasn’t a huge selection, but decent for a hotel this size. Breakfast was the usual Turkish options, with salads, cheeses, and breads, which I find weird. One day there were shish kebab balls, and the little burger things were tasty. One or two staff looked tired, but they were still very polite and helpful. Plates were cleared straight after we finished eating. We had a really pleasant stay and would definitely return. The beach is about a 10-minute walk away. I actually liked that there wasn’t a busy row of shops nearby. Shops are a 25-30-minute walk away if you want them, far enough to keep things peaceful.

The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful, trying to make the stay pleasant. Whether it suits you depends on what you want from a holiday. For exploring by car, it’s a good base, with lots of free street parking. There’s also a nice damb about 15 minutes away by car, plus a cave and picnic areas with riverside restaurants, some with aqua parks inside. The beach is nice and close, and the hotel has its own beach area. If you prefer colder water, you can swim in the river or combine a river and sea swim. By bus #1, it’s easy to get to Alanya. For a hotel-based holiday there’s a pool, water slides, and a pool bar, but it felt like a low-budget option. Main course variety was limited, Wi-Fi costs extra, and cleanliness and upkeep around the pool and child club could be better. Some of the poolside recycling bins were broken. With more effort to keep things in shape, this could be a very nice hotel. During our stay the guests were Turkish and Russian, with smaller numbers of other nationalities.

Don’t be fooled by the four-star rating. At best this is a two-star B&B in Blackpool. The staff, apart from the cleaners, were extremely rude. The food was slop and leftovers, so bad that the stray cats and dogs wouldn’t eat it when we offered them some. One night we found worms or maggots in the rice, and staff said they wouldn’t hurt, they were protein. The chef was caught picking his nose while cooking. When we complained, we were told the Russians liked the food. Drinks were limited to warm apple juice, water, or lager with more foam than beer. Asking for ice got you a look like you’d slapped their child. The bar staff were only polite when the police showed up. The pool slides were off more often than on while the pool was open. After closing at 5, you were kicked out unless you were Turkish or Russian, in which case management seemed to look the other way. Reception eventually refused to call taxis after doing it a few times. The shop next door called one for us and was very friendly, a godsend. It may be cheap, but that doesn’t excuse how terrible it was. The closest it gets to four stars is the logo, certainly not the service.

We got a cheap break out of season, so a lot of things were closed. It was a bit off the beaten track, but there’s a local bus service and it was only 40tryto town and the harbour. The food was okay and the all-inclusive drinks selection was very limited, just beer, vodka, whiskey, and gin. The staff were lovely, though I didn’t think there were enough of them for a hotel this size. Everywhere I looked seemed clean. Our room was huge but basic. For what we paid, it was worth it as a cheap getaway. I think some of the other reviews expected five-star plus, and it isn’t that. I might come back when the resort is busier.

This isn’t all-inclusive, and it feels like a hotel for kids. It could be four or five stars if management and staff listened to customers. The room was generally good, though the shower rail was broken and only just holding. Food was a shambles, with few choices and the same things over and over. They need more options so everyone can find something to eat. The bar shuts at 10 pm, which means you’re in bed by 11 on holiday. The Turkish Bath & Hammam was permanently closed. Most staff were fine, but one or two looked really tired. Entertainment was practically nonexistent until someone took on the role and tried their best. The table tennis equipment was broken. Billiards cost 5 euros for an hour, and some of the balls were chipped or cracked. The slides ran sometimes, then were switched off at random.
