Marigold Thermal Spa Hotel

The thermal facilities were nice, and I loved the warm hospitality and service.

The lunchbox was ready in the lobby when we left, but there wasn't much in it and it wasn't satisfying. We were staying for a night for the Uludağ Ultra trail marathon, at one of the suggested hotels, and had told them we'd leave at 6:30. The receptionist said breakfast started at 7 a.m. and promised to arrange a lunchbox. If they offer you one, make sure you check what's inside.

The pool was excellent and breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of variety and good quality. The room was nice and comfortable, but for the price of the suite it didn't feel especially impressive. The hotel itself is good, though some things could be better. It's quite far from both the city center and the mountains, which made sightseeing less convenient. Check-in took 40 minutes just to register my documents. Also, whenever staff got a call, I had to wait while they answered it. I didn't expect that at a five-star hotel. I was also confused when staff insisted that I pay in euros instead of dollars. Their explanation didn't make much sense to me. Given the price and five-star rating, I'd expect better service and smoother operations. The pool and breakfast were the main positives.

I've stayed here twice, and the rooms were immaculate and smelled nice. They have non-smoking rooms. The staff were kind, attentive, helpful, and could all speak English, which was useful since not many people in Turkey speak it. The hotel is only four floors. I liked the view well enough, though you can't see Bursa from the first or second floor. Breakfast was delicious, with reasonable choices, but it wasn't very varied.
