I visited family who were staying at this basic hotel complex in Marmaris. The pool gets loads of sun in the height of summer, and the on site food was fair for both price and quality. There’s also an arcade and other paid amenities. The atmosphere was relaxed, but the hotel is away from Marmaris’s main strip.

The location works well depending on what you’re after. You’re near the strip, with plenty of cheap restaurants and shops, but the old town and promenade are a fair walk away, about 20-30 minutes. Buses run regularly to the old town and cost 25 lira, around 60p. The rooms are comfortable for the price, with a balcony and enough space to do the job. The main thing that stands out, though, is the staff. They’re very friendly and take good care of you.

My apartment was on the top floor, where the ceiling was really low. After a couple of days I learned to duck, and I only really slept there anyway. The rest of the stay was lovely and relaxing. All the staff were super friendly and accommodating, and the food was fantastic. I only ate elsewhere twice. Most guests seemed to return twice a year, year after year, and there was a really friendly vibe among them. Highly recommended, and I’ll be back.
