Romance Beach Hotel

We stayed at Romance Beach Hotel for three nights. Breakfast was good, and the rooms were clean and kept in good shape. There’s an outdoor pool and the hotel has its own beach. Special thanks to Mr. Taha and the staff. They let us check in at 9:00 and even gave us breakfast.

The room had wallpaper peeling off, holes in the walls, and screws sticking out of the headboard. We also found a rotten egg in the fridge. From the start, there was a horrible smell of fish and rot, with dead flies and hairs in the bed. We asked through love holidays to switch rooms and were told we’d be moved the next morning, but that never happened. We spent the whole week in that stinking room. The cleaner also took or threw away food we’d brought back to the room. We were promised a full refund for it and a complimentary late checkout, but had to argue to get our money back. The receptionists and hotel manager laughed at us and called us liars. Disgusting room and customer service.

The hotel was calm and clean, and had a lovely, almost magical atmosphere. You could see the pool and sea through the windows, even from the corridors.

We paid the same for three nights at another hotel just minutes away, and the difference was night and day. That place was clean, fresh, modern, and welcoming. I can’t recommend this hotel. The one star is only because I couldn’t give zero. Our room smelled strongly of mold and rotting wood from the furniture as soon as we walked in. I have asthma, and it set it off. I’ve been coughing for days after the stay. We booked three nights and wanted them over, but didn’t want to lose the money by leaving early. When we asked to change rooms because ours was unbearable and explained about my asthma, they said nothing was available. Later that day, we saw them selling rooms to new guests. The room was never cleaned. When I asked for fresh towels, I was given dirty ones, and reception didn’t even apologize when I brought them back. The staff showed no care or shame in how they treated guests. The online pictures are completely misleading. The hotel feels neglected, stale, and stuck in the 1980s. For what we paid, this was one of my worst hotel stays. Just awful.
