Grand Vuslat Hotel

The place is tucked among buildings, with a poor view, a dark corridor, and stale air. I didn’t like the breakfast, and the numbers are not high. It was clean and tidy, though, and the employees were attentive. The light switch was damaged, and the bathroom air vent didn’t work.

Last year I had an amazing stay. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff did everything they could to make it enjoyable. Special thanks to the gentleman who helped me park my car. The food was delicious too. I highly recommend it for the accommodation and service, and I’m looking forward to visiting again.

The location is great, with everything nearby and trabzon maydan just a few steps away. I was in room 502 on the top floor, which had a great view of the black sea. The room was a good size, though the decor and furniture felt quite old. The A.C smelled bad, and they didn’t do anything after I asked. The rooms aren’t soundproof, so it can get noisy when the hotel is crowded. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a repetitive typical Turkish breakfast, and I don’t recommend it. It’s a very good choice for a couple of days, though. I’d rate it a solid 3.5 out of 5.

The central location and accommodating staff were the only good things for us. In room 306, the sheets hadn’t been changed and the room hadn’t been properly cleaned after the previous guests. There was men’s hair all over the sheets and pillowcases, and we had to ask for clean ones on the first night. Then we found the filthy mattresses, covered only by a white sheet with no mattress protector. The room had bed bugs, and we were badly bitten. They wouldn’t believe us until we showed them photos and videos, and only then offered another room. The mattress alone should have been enough to make them ashamed to let unsuspecting guests sleep on it. Room 305, where they moved us, had stains on the carpet and dirt on it too. I’m not sure they even vacuumed before handing it over. We hardly slept that night, worried more bed bugs might be lurking, and moved to another hotel on the last night. It’s a shame, because the location and spacious rooms give the hotel potential to be a 4-star superior, but the hygiene and old, worn furniture need a lot of work and daily supervision. The beds were uncomfortable, and the pillows too high to be comfortable. Thin walls and no soundproofing made sleep even harder when nearby rooms above or next to us were noisy.
