Emelda Sun Club Hotel

The hotel’s location was lovely and the food was good. The rooms were clean, if a bit old-fashioned. But the noise every evening until midnight was hard to put up with, from a nearby karaoke bar and from the hotel’s own parties, though the hotel music was more distant. I even left a comment about it while we were there. On our last day, the staff kindly offered us another room and spoke with the neighbors. We appreciated that, but since we only had one night left, we decided to stay put. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a quiet rest. If you enjoy nightlife and a lively atmosphere, it could suit you well.

Emelda Sun Club was a big disappointment for the price. We expected much better quality and service, and the hotel didn’t meet expectations. It’s overpriced and needs serious improvements. I wouldn’t recommend it, since there are better options for the same money. The room was old and badly in need of renovation. It had a constant unpleasant smell that wouldn’t go away even with ventilation. Cleaning was superficial: although it was supposedly ready when we arrived, the floors were dirty, the furniture dusty, and there was mold in the bathroom. Staff didn’t seem motivated or friendly, and the service felt mechanical, without real hospitality. The food was average at best, with very little variety and questionable quality. We’ve stayed at other hotels in Turkey for the same price that were far better for comfort, cleanliness, food, and service. Honestly, I don’t understand the five-star reviews. Maybe those people just haven’t stayed somewhere truly good before and think this is amazing. If you’ve traveled even a little, the flaws are obvious.

The sea is right by the hotel, and there’s plenty to fill the day, from morning water gym to evening shows. We’ve returned for years and always enjoy it. The staff are lovely, the food suits different tastes, including picky eaters and people with specific allergies, and the massage and hamam are wonderful. It’s welcoming to everyone, with ramps for disabled guests and lots for families and kids. Some rooms need restoration, though we’ve only had one bad room; you can ask to switch if you’re unhappy. I recommend it, even with the drive from the airport.

We had a good holiday, though there are a few things that need work. The guest relations team paid attention to what we needed, gave us a gift, and helped book the à la carte restaurant. Special thanks to Miss Sukran for being friendly and helpful. At the bar, Mr. Alper, Yilmaz and Mehmet made us some of the best cocktails, and we’d come back just to see them. The reception staff didn’t smile or answer when we asked for help. I work in reception at a five-star hotel in Istanbul, where guest satisfaction and welcoming people are part of my job, so this was disappointing. The food quality was poor, breakfast was the same every day, and the minibar was very cheap.
