Odak Pansiyon

The place was quiet and modern, with clean, comfortable rooms and good value for the price. Service and location were great too. We also had a balcony, plus extras like water, shower gel, and slippers.

The comfortable bed and good shower made for a decent stay, and the friendly reception staff speak a little English and can suggest places to eat. The Ç9 bus from the bus terminal stops near the pension, then it's a 5-7 minute walk. There's no elevator, so a large suitcase can be awkward, though the receptionist helped me with my 23kg case. I had a strong cigarette smell in my fourth-floor bathroom, apparently coming from downstairs, and could smell smoke in my room during the day too, even though smoking in rooms is prohibited. I told reception, and the guy asked if I wanted to change rooms. I said it wasn't necessary, but they did try to find a solution. I'd recommend this pension for short stays, no more than three days at most for a woman, because other male guests smoke on balconies and in rooms.

The bus station had moved, which was a surprise since I chose this place partly for its closeness to it. Luckily, the bus from the station stops very near Odak Pansiyon and accepts credit cards. There's a nice cake and coffee shop on the main street, several convenience stores, and even a small art gallery in the big new building that might belong to the city council. Town is about a 10-minute walk away, over flat ground with mostly decent footpaths. Staff always greeted me, and my single room was clean, with a comfortable bed and a handy fridge. The Wi-Fi worked fine too.

There is no elevator, and the building has no sound insulation. I could hear someone walking upstairs in high heels, and even conversations on the ground floor carried all the way to the top.
