There was a bad smell from the toilet, and the hot water wasn’t working. Our room had no landline. We asked for cleaning, but it wasn’t done properly. Breakfast only starts at 8 a.m., and there was no staff around at night if we needed anything. A very bad experience.

The location was great, but that was the only positive. Our bathroom smelled moldy, and the hallways and lobby smelled of smoke. We were in the room farthest away, where the internet connection was terrible. The bathroom needs updating, and we had no cleaning or fresh towels during our two nights. There wasn’t a bathmat, the kettle was broken, and the light above the bed didn’t work.

The breakfast is limited, served as a menu rather than a buffet, and room service only happens if you ask. Our lake-facing room had a nice view of the water and green mountains, and it was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is within walking distance of Uzungol lake. From October onward it gets cold, but the room heater only ran from 6 p.m. until around midnight, with no way to control it from the room.

The location is the one good part. The rooms need repairs and better ventilation, the toilet smelled bad, and breakfast was very poor. The atmosphere didn’t feel welcoming, and I wouldn’t come back.
