We spent two unforgettable days here, and I wish we’d stayed longer. Our night in the hut was lovely: even in August it was cool, and the silence of the highlands was broken only by cowbells. It felt like we were above the clouds, in a Heidi cartoon. Aunt Golshan and her husband welcomed me and my children so warmly. They’re a very respectful and wonderful family, and gave us fresh milk and delicious berries. Bring everything you need, though, since there’s no grocery store. The road is paved, but not asphalt. The place is well worth visiting. Thank you all.

The view is beautiful, and the apartments were VERY CLEAN and much larger than they looked in the pictures. There’s a small play area on the property, plus plenty of cows and chickens for children to see. The local village restaurant serves good food too. We had car trouble and had to go back to Lake, 30 minutes away. Hussain picked us up and brought us back after our stay. He even waived the last-minute cancellation charge for the day we had car trouble, and was very understanding. The family running the hotel are amazing. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this spot for solo travelers, groups, and families. You need a 4x4 and some experience driving rough terrain to reach the village. If you don’t have that, Hussain, the hotel owner, can arrange transport to and from the village for a reasonable cost. We hope to return and have already advised friends to visit.

The apartments were very clean and the service was great. We had a great stay as a family, and the friendly host made us feel like part of the family. This is just the place you want when you’re looking for somewhere to stay and relax.

The road is narrow, winding, and unpaved, but with good driving skills you can manage it. The place itself is super clean, with a great view and a friendly host.

A really lovely spot with a nice apartment, great views, and a friendly family. Try to come on a sunny day. Once you reach Uzungol Lake, take the mountain road to Karester.
