Uzungol Yayla Hotel

There’s no restaurant at the hotel, but the area has plenty of places to eat, along with shops. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. The location is good and close to the lake, and the view is amazing, which makes up for the room being too small, with a very low ceiling.

The bed was decent, and the staff were courteous and helpful. The room had a decent view, and the property is near the lake, in front of the river. I also appreciated seeing the qibla direction clearly marked for prayers, something rare in a room in Turkey. We booked a King Room with River View based on the pictures and description, but got a side room instead. It wasn’t king sized and didn’t have a river view. We were told that no such room existed. There was no kettle, tea, coffee, water, or even drinking glasses. Glasses would have been useful for drinking and sterilising our baby’s bottles, since there was no kettle. We asked for hot water, but it never came. The room had no A/C, and it was very hot that day and night, so sleeping was really difficult.

We paid far more than the rooms were worth, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. We spent two nights, but there was no cleaning and no fresh sheets or towels. When we asked for an extra sheet, pillow, or cover, staff, especially the Arabic speakers, were rude and sarcastic. No extra beds or sheets were available. The rooms were very tight, with a tiny suite window that wasn’t enough for ventilation. Cooking smells came in from nearby restaurants, the toilets had no extractor fans, and noise carried between rooms so much that there was no privacy. Insects were everywhere because the windows had no mesh. There were lots of unrepaired patches on the walls, and the toilets weren’t hygienic, with algae in the corners and on the outer toilet wall inside the room.

The rooms are small but clean, and the lake is within walking distance. Not bad.
