Kamer Exclusive Hotel & Suites

If a quiet place to read by the pool with a beer sounds good, Kamer Suites and Hotel is a strong choice. Alp, the friendly owner, was always around for advice or a chat, and even found room for our daughter when she unexpectedly joined us halfway through the holiday. Thank you for being so kind, Alp. It's on a peaceful peninsula north of Cesme, and the calm rooms were a welcome retreat after the bustle of Cesme and Alacati. They're clean, tidy, practical, and roomy. The pool was one of my favorites in Turkey, with a nice bar and cafe restaurant serving good value meals and Efes. Try the iced cappuccino too. Dalyan is close by, with plenty of excellent restaurants along the harbor. We went looking for more local spots and found the best calamari I've ever had at the fish restaurant halfway down the main road into town. They don't list it on the boards, so ask. The bus to Cesme, with its castle, marina, and lively shopping streets, costs around £1.50 return. Alacati is farther away, about £4 return, and has beautiful yellow-brick streets and quality shops. It's restful by day and hectic at night. My wife and daughter loved it, especially Noe Happiness clothes shop, but were happy to return to the quiet of Kamer later. Nearby beaches are local and free. White Beach Aya Yorgi is worth a trip too: entry is around £25, including a generous amount toward lunch and a drink or two, so we thought it was good value and very cool. Don't be put off by the seven-minute dolmus ride to the nearest main shopping town. We preferred this location to hotels right in the Cesme or Alacati chaos, or big impersonal places.

This was our second time at Kamer Suite Hotels, after an earlier winter visit, and we'd gladly come back. Cesme can be expensive by Turkish standards, but this place offered a good stay for a reasonable price. The little apartment-style suites are in several small buildings, with a bedroom, kitchenette, and lounge. They're comfortable and relaxing, and housekeeping cleaned daily and replenished water and coffee. We used the pool and food options quite a bit. There's a well-kept, good-sized pool behind the complex, a games room, and a kitchen serving lunchtime snacks or three-course evening meals. The food was very good in both quality and presentation. Breakfast is in a separate dining room, not by the pool, and had good quality cheeses, meats, vegetables, and hot and cold items. The staff were welcoming each morning. Please consider tipping them, they do a great job. Check-in was quick, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel seems very well managed. I saw a man, possibly the owner or manager, checking things carefully, and he promptly had a sticky patch of tile near the restaurant cleaned. That attention to detail made a good impression. This time we came as a family group.

The pool was a highlight, and we had the gym and beach access to keep us busy during our week in Cesme. Our rooms were kept clean, too. The staff were excellent and accommodating. Since we speak very little Turkish, I was concerned about getting around, but the Kamer Suite team made things easy. Ismail at reception was especially lovely, spoke great English, and helped make the stay pleasant. Thanks to him and Sercan for taking care of my family. We had a wonderful summer trip!

The best part was how kind and helpful everyone was. Breakfast had a delicious, wide selection of food and drinks, and the place itself was lovely, with comfortable accommodation, a large pool, and a well-equipped gym.
