We had a basement level room, though it did have windows. It was clean, well aired, and had the necessities you’d expect from a hotel. When we asked for other items like an iron and dryer, there was no trouble getting them. The neighborhood is a real highlight: upscale and a bit suburban, with a Los Angeles feel. It’s great for walking, felt very safe, and has shops, a bakery, gourmet food markets, and easy Uber rides for getting around. I’d read some negative reviews about management and a few incidents, but our experience was very different. The staff and management were upbeat and friendly, and made us feel welcome and comfortable. Mrs. Esen especially tried hard to make things right. Unexpected things can happen, but they were attentive and we felt looked after. Great hospitality. The hotel itself is modern and nicely built, with lovely indoor and outdoor decor. The pool, dining space, and lounge area give it a luxurious boutique feel, and the service was what you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. Those little touches really made a difference. We had no issues during our stay. Great service, attentive and positive staff, and a wonderful neighborhood close to everything. I’d recommend booking here if you want a comfortable place to relax and recharge. This is an honest account of my stay at the Mat Boutique Hotel.
