Rupa Experience Hotel

The food was great, and the staff were really nice. It’s a very nice, modern hotel.

The photos match the place, but they were taken when the hotel was new and properly cared for. By the time we arrived, it felt neglected. We’d booked two nights, but left after one and moved to another boutique hotel because we couldn’t face staying a second night. We had arrived late, so we stayed that first night. Our room had a jacuzzi, but it wasn’t hygienic. I asked for it to be cleaned, and they didn’t even remove the hair from the drain. There was still dust inside too. The shower and sink weren’t worth discussing, the beds were uncomfortable, the sheets had hairs on them, and the mini-bar didn’t even have a dropper. We gave breakfast a try. There was a good variety, but the fried eggs were cold and the fruit plate looked like it might have been left over from the day before. It was a basic breakfast, not as fresh or tasty as the photos made it look. The jacuzzi and breakfast were two reasons we chose this hotel, and neither was worth the price. The lack of hygiene was the first thing that needed fixing. It was a bad experience for us.

The price felt far too high for what we got, especially compared with other hotels in Alaçatı. The Pinterest-style photos don’t make up for the service, and hygiene is a serious problem. There was no routine room cleaning. We had to insist to get fresh towels, and even then they were handed over with a sullen look. We were told the curtains, which had wine spilled on them the day before, would be washed and rehung. They still weren’t up the next day until we reminded the staff. The shower water was cold and barely had any pressure. Our room was described as having a jacuzzi, but there was no phone or internet connection and the TV didn’t work. We were tired and didn’t want to leave the hotel, so we used the pool. Only the next day did we notice its dusty layer. At breakfast, the food was basic and the chairs had dust and cat hair on them. The soap dispenser was empty, and plates by the pool were left uncollected. It was obvious they didn’t have enough staff.

At least the breakfast was good. The rest was pretty shocking. They said the room was cleaned and ready, but there was hair and dust all over the bed and counter. The bathtub still had hair in it too. There was no soap by the sink, and the shampoo dispenser in the shower was empty, like it was just there for decoration. :) We tried not to let it ruin our holiday and thought we’d use the pool, but it was so dirty nobody could get in. There was hair and leaves everywhere, with dead flies on top. :) Only one man seemed to be cleaning all the rooms, and we wondered how he could manage it. Have a good day.
