Sun Pearl Resort Çeşme

The breakfast was very bad, with undercooked eggs, and there were flies everywhere. The decor is very old, and the room wasn't well maintained. Service from both staff and management was disappointing. When I raised my concerns, management brushed them off without offering a real solution. Unless you remind them, they never come to clean the room.

The view and location were lovely, but the rest of our stay left us very disappointed. At the pool restaurant, we waited over an hour in the sun for a salad, and it was very overpriced, like the rest of the menu. At checkout, we asked specifically to speak with someone who knew English. Even after explaining our problems, we were still asked to pay 30€ for that meal. They didn't have to cover it, but the way our complaint was handled showed very poor customer service. That felt unforgivable for a 5 star resort. Getting help was difficult because only a few people at reception and the pool bar or restaurant spoke English. The rooms were also noisy, with sounds from other rooms coming through. Ours had very few plugs and no night lights. The mini fridge didn't work, and the balcony door was defective, opening over a concrete drop. Most of all, the bathroom water came through the wall and flooded the bedroom whenever we showered. We reported it at reception and were told a technician would fix it. Nothing was done. When we complained again, staff said they'd check once more, but nobody came. Room service didn't clean our room even though we asked, despite the floor being wet and dangerously slippery. We ended up drying it ourselves at night, at a “resort”.

I was looking for a 5 star hotel, but this felt like three stars at best. The rooms are the usual basic 3 star kind, and you can get by, but the place looks better at first than it is and feels overpriced. It was shabby. I only needed somewhere to crash, but I can't see why it has a 5 star rating. I wouldn't return or recommend it.
