Halil Bungalow Villa

The host takes care of every detail, and the breakfast is perfect. Such a lovely place for a peaceful, beautiful break. It’ll be my first choice next time I visit Cirali.

We stayed in one of the three new bungalows at Bungalow Halil, set at the back of Halil’s property. The orchard has olive, grapefruit, pomegranate, lemon, and orange trees, with perennials around the yard. At night, lights strung in the trees brighten the bungalows. Halil lives in the house at the front, where two more rooms are available to rent. The bungalows look much alike in size and layout, and are beautifully built with wood walls, floors, and ceilings. The bathroom is modern, tiled, and pretty. There’s a stove, granite countertop, and small refrigerator in the kitchen for anyone wanting to cook. My wife and I liked sitting on the porch and enjoying the quiet garden. Most guests seemed to be Russian, but I’d encourage Americans to come too. We were welcomed graciously. Halil speaks English, German, and Russian as well as Turkish. This is a good fit for people who enjoy scenery, quiet, nature, and exploring small towns. If you’re after nightlife, it may not be the place, though there is some in the nearby village center of Ciraili. The area has more tent campers hiking the Lycian way than disco-seeking partiers. Cirali beach is exquisite, about 500 meters away. Halil grows his own olives and fruit, and breakfast includes produce from his garden. The fruit and olives were exceptional. The Chimaera, where combustible gases come out of vents on the mountainside, is about a 1 km uphill walk. Go at night to see the flames better. You could bring marshmallows and hot dogs to cook over them. Many people were doing that when we were there.

The garden with fruit trees was beautiful, the room was clean, and the owner was nice. Amazing place and delicious breakfast.
