Artolive Datca

One thing to know is that the hotel is reached along a 1.5 km stony road, so allow for the extra time on trips to and from it. That's part of Datça, though. As the saying goes, “If you're in a hurry, what are you doing in Datça?” 🤷🏻‍♀️🙂‍↕️ We stayed in the Terrace Rooms at Artolive Datça from July 16-19 with my wife and our cat. It's a rare affordable option if you're after somewhere quiet and surrounded by nature, yet close to the center and bays. Mr. Batuhan and Ms. Cansu were attentive and friendly, and we had lovely chats with them from booking right through to leaving. After a day out, it was so nice to sit quietly in the garden and have almond Turkish coffee made by Ms. Cansu. 😊🙏🏼♥️🌿

The young couple who run the place are friendly, and the surroundings feel safe and peaceful. It's about 15 minutes from the center, making it a good fit if you want quiet. The rooms are comfortable, and with Datça center's traffic and parking problems, I find this kind of place more sensible than a single room in town. Among the olive trees, the silence at night and the stars overhead are lovely. You feel like you're at your own summer house, surrounded by nature.

One positive was the room, a spacious, clean bungalow with three rooms away from the main building. The table by the door gave it an authentic feel, and I could overlook the technical hiccups because of the natural setting. Still, there was no TV, and when we turned on the air conditioner because it was chilly at night, it was stuck on cool, so we had to switch it off. Breakfast was mediocre, perhaps because it was a holiday and preparations weren’t finished. As someone who drinks a lot of tea, I struggled to get any. The road from the main road to the hotel is about 300-400 meters of rocky track, only wide enough for one vehicle, so you need to watch for traffic. We used to visit Datça every year and stay at the same hotels, but this year a little friend, Mr. Gölge, joined our family, so we looked for a pet-friendly place and were happy ArtOlive accepted us. It was our first holiday with our dog. It's a concept hotel tucked into nature. With more attention to breakfast and the room shortcomings dealt with, this could become a very good place. I can recommend it to dog owners who want a holiday in Datça.

From June 16-19, my wife, our two kids, and I stayed with the Artolive family. It was a lovely welcome, and we’ll be back soon. The family who own the place were kind and friendly, and the location between Datça center and its beautiful bays is right in the middle of nature. We loved the clean rooms and waking up to birdsong. The kids could collect eggs from the chickens on site and play with the cute dog who looks after the property. Thank you so much. We need more businesses and owners like this, we loved you very much :)
