Egeden Hotel

The room was basic, but the bathroom setup made it uncomfortable for two people: there was only a glass panel, no door, so there was no privacy. The kettle handle got so hot while boiling water that I burned my hand. Every shower flooded the bathroom, and during our three-night stay nobody mopped the floor. I also found the breakfast overrated, with no local or authentic products. At checkout they struggled to charge my card because I had booked through Booking, then called later in a panic asking for card details over the phone. The front desk staff member wasn't welcoming or helpful and couldn't answer our questions. In general, the staff seemed unhappy to be working there and inexperienced in hospitality. I can't understand the high Google reviews. The price is unbelievable for such basic amenities and poor service. I've lived in Turkey for 15 years and never paid this much for such low quality, which was even more disappointing after reading all the glowing reviews. I changed my rating from two stars to one when I realized we'd been charged 200 TL per cup for that sorry excuse for coffee, even though on one of the days we didn't have breakfast at all.
