Grand Hotel Kekova

It's not especially grand.

We stayed one night and found the room and toilet very clean. The staff were polite and cheerful, and Hotel is close to the tourist spots around Demre. Thank you to the owner, Birol Bey, for his hospitality and the breakfast he kindly provided. I'd recommend it if you're staying in Demre.

We arrived late with nowhere to stay, and they were still open and took us in. We missed breakfast, but they brought us a breakfast plate anyway. Mr. Birol was very kind, the rooms and toilet were clean, and our spacious room had a balcony. There were plenty of towels, adequate wardrobe and storage space, a TV, and working air conditioning. A supermarket and late-night market are right next door, and tourist attractions are close enough to walk to. It's near the beach and works well for a family. The prices were reasonable. The corridor lights were dim and could be brighter. Some of the recent reviews seemed exaggerated to me. We just stayed there and found it very nice.

I was greeted around 11 pm by a middle-aged gentleman who looked after me very politely and kindly. That was an unexpected gesture from a Demre businessman 😆 This was my second time choosing the hotel. City hotels in the Demre area have been a fiasco for me, and compared with the others, this is the best. My room and, on both visits, the bed and pillows were clean. There was a bathroom issue, but since I was only there for a day it didn't bother me much. I mentioned it at checkout. I'm satisfied, though I'd say not to expect too much from a guesthouse. I say that as someone who works in a hotel ☺️
