Simena Pension

The water was so clear it reminded me of the Maldives and Sardinia, with everything visible beneath the surface. The views, food, and atmosphere were all wonderful, and after staying at many hotels, I’d put this among the very best. Yasim and his family were warm and welcoming, and his daughters were so polite. Their kindness made a real impression on our family, as did the people across the island. A lovely spot to enjoy nature and the scenery. We’ll definitely come back.

The cats around the loungers were a fun bonus, dozing in the shade or playing with crabs and fish. The terrace at the rooms and restaurant looks out over a breathtaking bay, and lounging by the turquoise water with a drink or a meal felt like a special experience. The owner and staff made our stay incredible. The only trouble is that you don’t want to leave.

Between September 15th and 20th, we stayed at this lovely family-run place and had a really happy holiday. Kamil Bey cooked delicious meals, he’s a skilled chef with a great range, and Yasin Bey looked after us too. Kaleköy is a little corner of heaven, and Simena Kale Pension is a great option if you’re passing through or planning a visit. I’d recommend seeing it at least once. Kale Pension, see you again. 🌸

I’d followed this place on social media for years and had really wanted to visit, so the stay was a letdown. We came at the end of summer, and the rooms smelled moldy. Everything was wood, and the room creaked throughout. The location itself is fantastic, and the area has a lovely atmosphere, but don’t count on friendly service or cleanliness. The surrounding area was dirty too. On the climb to the castle, we wished we’d brought a trash bag, and the locals’ lack of concern surprised us.
