Siir Otel

Siir hotel is comfortable, cozy, and has a really nice vibe, with quality furniture and lovely details like the şiir poems and rooms named after poets. It's a very fine hotel, though a bit far from everything.

My standard double was spacious and lovely, with a four-poster bed, comfortable mattress and pillows, and a balcony looking out toward the city in the near distance. The staff were friendly and obliging, and breakfast offered a decent spread. Still, several things kept this at 3☆ rather than 4☆. The fridge barely got cool, even at maximum, which is frustrating in a hot country when you want cold drinks. The upper shower fitting held the showerhead, but was broken so I couldn't angle it outward properly. Wi-Fi was weak and disappeared completely when I sat on the balcony. Without a car, getting to the city center took 30 minutes by dolmuş. I chose the hotel partly for its hamam and was looking forward to relaxing there after a 4.5hr bus ride, especially after seeing the appealing photos. But when I checked in at 8.30pm, it was closed, and the next day it didn't open until 3pm, when I couldn't use it. A hotel with a hamam open for five hours or fewer a day is nuts and unheard-of in Turkey. It's a shame, because a few improvements could make the place much better.

There are a lot of restaurants around the hotel, and the price is fair. The rooms are big and comfortable, and the services are very good. Siir hotel means poet hotel, with each room marked with a Turkish Poetry. The hotel is awesome and follows the government's recommended, updated corona hygiene protocol.

We visited the hotel to meet one of its guests for a meeting, and liked the surroundings and service so much that we'll return for a stay and see more of the City. It's a lovely, very clean hotel with excellent, attentive staff.
