Altunakar I Hotel

The bed was comfortable, the pool was fine, and breakfast was okay, though it could use more variety. The hotel arranged an airport shuttle, but the shuttle company overcharged us because we didn't have Turkish lira. I mentioned it to the hotel, but don't expect them to act on the feedback. The owners and staff came across as unprofessional and unwilling to fix problems. The bathroom hygiene was laughable, and they didn't clean it after I asked. There's a dangerous wall outlet, shown in the photo. Don't count on customer-friendly help or an extra service, even when a mistake is theirs. My room was cleaned on day two without anyone asking me first. I had valuables on the bed and lost my SIM card. The trash bin was tiny, too.

Everything in the room worked properly, and the hotel was clean. The staff were friendly.

There's parking right beside the hotel, and the beach is an easy walk away. Inside, it's quiet and very clean, with comfortable bedding and welcoming, attentive staff. Breakfast was the one small drawback for me, since it got a bit repetitive.

For what it costs and where it is, I found the hotel pleasant and was happy with my stay. The balcony was roomy, the rooms were clean, and the towels, bedding and pillows were clean as well. The air conditioning worked and cooled the room enough. I don't understand complaints about having to switch off the AC when you leave. In any hotel, taking your key card out cuts the electricity, so criticizing this place for that seems ridiculous. You can't expect a hotel like this to compare with a five-star complex. The owner is a very kind, gentlemanly person, with a warm personality and a family atmosphere that I admire.
