We’ve just come back from our second stay at Esra hotel and are already thinking about going again next year. From the moment you enter reception, the staff greet you warmly. The hotel and rooms are cleaned daily, and there are fresh towels in the rooms each day. The cleaners, bar, restaurant, and pool staff were all friendly and helpful, and nothing seemed too much trouble. My three girls, aged 18, 13, and 10, all love it here, and we hate leaving. The lovely beach, shops, restaurants, and bars are a 5-10 minute walk away. Restaurants also offer pickup and drop-off.

We had a great September stay. The rooms are spotless and well looked after, though a bit dated, and the hotel itself is very clean and friendly. Its location near Sky Bar is handy, and honestly, that’s the best local pub you'll find. Most nights had entertainment, five out of seven, and the shows were very good. The fire show was phenomenal. The food always had something to enjoy, but the selection could be broader since it got a little repetitive. An ice cream machine in the restaurant would be a welcome addition. The cats are adorable too, and I miss them. The staff really made the place for us. They were kind, accommodating, and helpful. Salem at reception was always welcoming and professional, while Ahmet and Samet in the restaurant were polite, brilliant with people, and eager to help. I’d definitely recommend staying here. One thing that needs attention is security. The guard seemed uninterested and could do with being woken up. A couple of times people went way over the top, and security didn't respond. Aside from that, we met so many lovely people and had a fantastic time.

The rules and service here were awful, and this was the worst hotel I've stayed in. The pools only open at 9am and close at 6pm. There's no towel service, and staff argued with me when I wasn't allowed to take towels outside the room. The same entertainment ran every night, and breakfast was as basic as a cafe or bakery. This should be a one-star hotel. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

It isn't a modern hotel, but it did what we needed for a family holiday. If I'd wanted luxury, I would have booked somewhere luxurious. We all enjoyed our week there. The food was fantastic, with plenty of choice, and I can't say anything bad about the staff. They were brilliant, polite, kept things clean, and made sure guests were happy. The location was good too, with two lovely beaches about a five-minute walk away and the busy seafront shops around 15 minutes on foot. It was lovely to see the seafront at night.

We loved our two weeks at Hotel Esra in June 2025, and the good parts outweighed the problems. We would absolutely return. We arrived late on Sunday and got a warm welcome at reception. Check-in was easy, and they offered us hot soup and a drink, which was a lovely touch. The entertainment team kept things going throughout the day and encouraged everyone to join in. The evening shows were especially fun and well put together. The dining staff were kind and attentive, though sometimes they tried to clear our plates before we'd finished. The food had plenty of options, including nuggets, pizza, chips, and curries, so nobody would go hungry. Drinks came in plastic cups at meals and even at the lobby bar at night. Plastic makes sense by the pool, but proper glasses would be nicer in the evening, so more glassware might be a good idea. Our room was clean and tidy, on the second floor facing the street. We'd hoped for a garden view, so that was disappointing. Renovation work in the room next door and later directly above us started around 6pm, which made it hard to relax or have a siesta. The location was convenient, with a supermarket across the road. Altinkum and Dolphin Square, with shops, bars, and the beach, were about a 10-minute walk away. In the other direction, another beautiful beach and a small fairground were also around 10 minutes away. We had some great meals nearby. My China was amazing value, and one noodle portion could easily feed three. Taj Mahal was a lovely meal and a nice evening out. Sky Bar stays open until 3am, has karaoke nightly, and the chips are a must-try. Thanks, Hotel Esra, for a wonderful holiday and memories we won't forget.
