The owners made our stay especially easy. They offered to pick up supplies, and they know a lot about the nearby WW1 sites and history. They’ll also lend you maps and books if you ask and take care of them. Gallipoli Houses is only a short drive from Eceabat, with most memorials, cemeteries and other points of interest about 10-15 minutes away. The kitchenette is small but thoughtfully equipped, and we made eggs on toast for breakfast or brunch most days. There’s parking, comfortable beds, strong hot showers and air conditioning for summer. We visited in May. My wife and I travel a lot, and this is one of the best rural guest houses we’ve stayed in. The Gallipoli Houses are wonderful.

From the room, you can see a line of monuments marking important positions. The village itself was also targeted by naval guns during the campaign. Eceabat is 10-15 minutes away by car, with a low-key choice of restaurants, three of which serve alcohol. It’s very peaceful here, with chickens, cats, dogs, the Mosque and not much else around. Breakfast was great, and Eric knows a tremendous amount about the battle sites. All in all, we had a wonderful stay.

We felt welcome as soon as we arrived. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable, and breakfast was great, with both cooked food and fresh produce. Gallipoli houses is a lovely place to stay in a rural village, with beautiful views and friendly locals. We’d highly recommend it.

This is an excellent base for seeing the WW1 sites, with plenty of Irish interest too. Having a car is useful, and there are good restaurants a drive away. Ask Ozlem and Eric for suggestions. Highly recommend staying here. I’m looking forward to seeing the renovations, insallah.

The best place to stay on the Gallipoli peninsula!
