Bademi Hotel

The reception team were the real stars here, absolute sweethearts and so helpful. The hotel is small, rooms are nicely furnished and modern, and the beds are comfortable. It’s also in a great spot. My room looked out over Selimiye mosque, with stunning views. Getting a taxi to come there can be tricky, though. If one refuses, try the taxi stop on the other side of the mosque, then it’s a 2 minute walk. There’s no lift, but it’s only one flight of stairs. Cleaning could be better, as there were some fluff bits in the room when I arrived. Noise is another thing: tourists buying sweets from the shop in the building can be loud, especially at weekends, so daytime naps are hard unless the windows are shut. Breakfast is a bit odd, but you can make a decent meal of it. Coffee, tea, bread, butter, jam, honey and boiled eggs are unlimited, though there’s no toaster. There’s also a tray with olives, tomato spread, cheese, nutella, chips and half a fried sausage in the strangest colour I’ve ever seen. It’s included in the price, which isn’t excessive, so I wouldn’t expect much more. I’d recommend the place, and a big shout-out to the staff!

We chose this place for the view of the mosque. It’s new, clean and tidy, and had only opened 2 months earlier. The location is ideal, with beautiful ederin a short walk away. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our first stay enough that we’ll definitely come back. The car park is about 300 metres away, followed by an uphill walk to the hotel. We only had breakfast, and the food was very nicely presented. All in all, a worthy place to stay.

The mosque view is amazing, and at first I was pleased with the choice. Then the 5 am prayer woke me up, and I reconsidered, though that’s not the hotel’s fault. The receptionists were good guys, spoke English and were helpful. Parking is a plus. The bathroom hot water barely came through. I stayed two nights with a small child, and each bath took around 25 minutes before the water got warm. There just wasn’t enough pressure. Breakfast was included, but pretty basic and definitely poorer than at other places I’ve stayed in Edirne.

Clean and quiet, with friendly staff. The location was excellent, and I loved the views around the hotel ❤️
