The host was extremely nice and helpful, and the price felt more than reasonable for such a unique stay. We only spent one night, but loved the place. It’s within walking distance of the main city sights, in a historic neighborhood surrounded by gorgeous old mansions. Most aren’t renovated, but they’re still charming and atmospheric. This is the original mansion, built more than a century ago, with preserved interiors that really give you a feeling of travelling back in time. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom is modern, and our room had AC, a must in such a hot summer.

From the mansion, it’s just a two-minute walk to the old center and bazaar, where I could get everything I needed for home, plus souvenirs, market fruit and vegetables, coffee, Turkish delight, olives, oil, and more. We came back to this gorgeous place and loved staying amid all that history and beauty. The spacious, clean rooms have high ceilings and big windows, with Ottoman-style decor throughout, including the wooden shower. Breakfast had a variety of Turkish delicacies.

It’s a very authentic old house, so in winter some wind might come through the old windows. That didn’t bother me personally. The historical house itself is awesome, and breakfast was very good.

For the high price, the service didn’t feel adequate. You have to carry your own luggage, and the toilet is too small. There’s no key for the main entrance, so if you return late you have to wake the attendant, or turn in early.
