Roy Otel Akçay

We chose this hotel because my mom lives in Akcay and we wanted to be able to walk to her place. The simple room and shower felt too small for a two-week stay with all our luggage, so we moved to a two-bedroom Suite, which gave us plenty of space and a lovely view. The manager and staff were fantastic, always polite and helpful, and they really cared about how we were doing. I found the place comfortable and clean overall, close to most things, and I'd stay again, but I wouldn't pay for breakfast. There was no meat apart from an unpleasant sausage, and we were hungry enough that we had to eat out. The cleaning also needed work. The cleaner only came when I asked in the morning as we were leaving, and she never did the floors or the base of the toilet. The same dirt stayed on the floor, and there were still urine streaks at the toilet's base. The patio was left with decorations from other guests, including balloons and masks, and the ashtray stayed full the whole time. The showers had rusty, old fittings that wouldn't hold the shower handle in place. That was one reason we switched rooms, but the second shower in the Suite had the same problem.

There are several beaches right across the street, which was really cool. The staff were so kind and lovely, and I really liked them. Our rooms were nice and mostly clean. We spent much of the day in them, so they couldn't clean as often. Breakfast was good too, and all in all it was a really nice place.

The air conditioning worked really well, and the decorations in the entrance, breakfast area, and room were beautiful. Staff were helpful, and the receptionist carried our two hand luggage bags up from the parking area. Parking in front of the hotel was free, breakfast was a simple buffet, and checkout was quick. There was no elevator, and we could clearly hear people talking in the next room. The shower drain smelled all night, and the shower floor felt sticky. The toilet paper holder was missing. The hotel did provide hand soap and a hairdryer.

From the street the hotel doesn't look like much, but inside it's modern and super clean. The staff were very helpful. The only downside was that the bed was super from.
