Nevan Suite Hotel

We ended up here after the teacher's house wouldn’t let us stay as a family, and I’m glad we did. We’d come from Izmir to Ağrı to visit family, and had a wonderful two days. The rooms were clean, service was good, and there was air conditioning. The spa center was being renovated, but that wasn’t a problem, and the view was beautiful.

The one good thing this year was the spacious rooms. I stayed with my family last year and again this year, and this visit was even worse. There was no breakfast in the proper sense, just cheese, cucumbers, and strained honey, with no olives, tomatoes, or anything else. We ate in the wedding hall at dirty tables left over from the night, just like last year. When we asked for water for the children, they brought glasses advertising alcohol, and there was no water in the rooms either. Bring your own if you go. The TV didn’t work either year. The cleanliness was poor, and in the suite the shower was broken, the bathroom filthy, and both the TV and air conditioning were broken. At least we could use the restroom. While I went to park the car, my children waited in the waiting room. A woman told them to leave, saying they were children who had come for the wedding. I went looking for them, but thankfully they managed to get back to their rooms. My children and I tried to find her, but I couldn’t.

We stayed two nights as a family. I had booked through O Bilet in Erciş: one room with two double beds and two single beds, and paid 1,980 TL for the two nights. But when I arrived with my family, the hotel said they couldn’t stay in the same room with me and that I had to pay separately for them. I ended up having to rent another room for my mother and father too. That felt like a complete rip-off, and I would never recommend this hotel. The place was awful as well: no hot water, very cold inside, and neither the air conditioning nor the radiator worked. The rooms were dirty and unhygienic. It’s absolutely not somewhere to stay. I’d booked after reading the reviews, and one person had mentioned all the hotel’s problems. I wish I’d listened. My money was wasted. Anyone who goes will realize their mistake, but by then it’ll be too late.

The rooms were filthy, the drains clogged, there was no hot water, and the air conditioning didn’t work. The building is run down inside, and breakfast was stale and dirty, with plates spilled across the floor. We arrived as three families expecting Nevan Hotel, but found the name had changed to Imer. While we were sorting out the booking, the girl in the lobby was casually smoking indoors. There’s no management, just three or four young employees working around the place. Part of the hotel has been given to A101, with a store opened downstairs. I don’t understand how this place got four stars, and definitely don’t recommend it.
