Mete Otel

We couldn't swim at the beach because the sea was full of weeds, and there were lots of day visitors. Although the hotel says it has a beach, guests get plastic tables and chairs. We checked in around 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 19th, for two nights, and they gave us Room 12, which I'd specifically requested for cleanliness, air conditioning, and a working shower. My wife and I left our bags, changed, and went out. When we returned around 4:00 PM to shower, there were no towels, and the ones given to us were filthy and stained. The toilet and water heater were right beside each other, the shower meant washing on the floor, and even the cold water didn't work. Downstairs, the gentleman told me there was nothing to do, that because we'd used the room that day he'd charge us and tell us to leave, then return the rest. When I said I'd call the police, he took 500 TL off and withheld the remaining balance. Mr. Hakan was the only manager. I've never seen such a filthy, incomplete, disgraceful place that treats customers so badly. I definitely wouldn't recommend it. That's how they treated us just because we'd gotten a thousand lira off a promotion. Don't stay just because it's cheap, it's not worth it.

The breakfast was mediocre, and the rooms were old and dirty. Neither the TV nor the air conditioning worked, and the electrical sockets were burnt. There was only one socket in the room, nowhere near the bed. We were told there were sun loungers, but all we saw were two or three tables and benches. The room was supposed to have a minibar, but there wasn't even water. No shampoo, shower gel, or towels either. They said the hot water would work if you flipped the fuse. There were no real curtains, only a sheer one. When we pointed out that the window looked straight into a building opposite, they said, "It's a wall opposite, it's nothing." If you say you don't like the hotel, their attitude changes immediately, and they offer to refund half your payment if you leave.

A dusty smell hits you as soon as you enter, and the rooms smell damp. Nothing here makes you feel the hotel cares about customer satisfaction. The bathroom and toilet were so old, and the flush didn't work, that we didn't even use them. Sewage drains into the backyard, so there are lots of mosquitoes. Even for free, this isn't a place I'd choose to stay.

We knew the area and had passed by before, but ended up having to stay here. The inside was terribly neglected, and the bathroom and toilet were so dirty that even one person could barely use them. Breakfast looked like someone had gathered whatever chairs they could find and thrown together a plate to mock us: cheese, olives, boiled eggs, two green peppers, a teaspoon of jam, cucumber, and two slices of tomato. For those prices, the place should be maintained and renovated. It was horrifying. If the people in charge don't know what they're doing, they shouldn't be in charge. Guests who are fooled by distant photos and forced to stay here because they can't find anywhere else in peak season will regret choosing Mete Hotel. A daily rental apartment would be better.
