Smart by Dedeman Eskisehir

The rooms were clean, breakfast decent, and the location good, so it's a shame that one interaction spoiled our stay at Smart by Dedeman Eskişehir. We'd already chosen to extend twice because we genuinely liked the hotel. When my father went to extend for a third time, he told receptionist Sahra he wanted to pay right away, but needed to use the bathroom first. He's respectful and always pays promptly. Sahra rudely insisted he pay before going, even as he was heading to the restroom. When he said he'd of course pay, she mocked his expression and mimicked him in a childish, disrespectful way. He paid as soon as he came back, but her lack of respect and empathy left a terrible impression. It's shocking to see that from the front desk of an otherwise good hotel. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously and makes sure staff treat guests, especially returning ones, with professionalism and basic respect.

Breakfast could be better set up. The eggs and omelets were cold, since there was no warmer like I've seen at other hotels, and the dining area layout could use improvement, though space may be limited. The rooms were warm and very clean, and the service was excellent.

It's a good hotel in a great spot, but parking is the big drawback. We paid 1,200 TL, nearly half the price of a night's stay, which felt very expensive. It'd be much better if the hotel arranged parking or worked with nearby lots to give guests a discount.

Parking is the one thing I'd flag for anyone coming by car. Being right in the city center, the hotel doesn't have convenient options nearby. The municipal multi-storey car park is the only workable choice within walking distance, but it costs a lot for daily parking. Everything else was perfect, especially the cleanliness and hospitality. An excellent hotel apart from that.
