Zakros Hotel Lykia - Adults Only

The tenderloin came out dry. They replaced it, and the second one was cooked nicely, but when I mentioned the first at checkout, the manager insisted the meat hadn't been dry. The replacement being good only confirmed my point. The rooms were dirty, common areas weren't maintained, and broken items were left where guests could see them. Eight out of ten menu items weren't available. Breakfast was very poor for this price range: one fried egg per person and no other hot food, apart from cold French fries. Covering the table with tasteless jams doesn't make for a decent breakfast. I wouldn't return or recommend it. There are much better places next door.

Electrical problems kept happening during our stay, and when we tried to raise issues politely, the manager was rude and no help at all. Staff had very limited English, and management seemed to offer them little support or care about the guest experience. The rooms were poorly maintained and below standard, without basics like soap or working air conditioning. Requests took ages, if they were handled at all. The food cost a lot for what you got, and there was no entertainment or anything to do at the hotel. It just wasn't worth the premium price. And to the hotel: please stop pasting the same reply under every negative review. Take responsibility and do better. Now you're shamelessly accusing us of lying. Believe us or not, we're speaking up to warn others and help them avoid this awful hotel.

The view is the only good thing about this place, so don't be fooled by it. Getting to the hotel was quite an adventure, and once I saw the room, I felt I'd paid far too much. The air conditioning didn't work properly, shower water wouldn't flow well, and there were no amenities, which seems basic at this price. Insects were getting in too, and the room's insulation clearly wasn't done well. The reception manager was the worst part. When I said I was unhappy with what the hotel offered for the price, she told me, “If you're not happy you can leave!” She later came to look at the problem, made fun of me, and said I was lying. I uploaded a photo and video to prove it. There's no phone in the room either, so for anything you have to go all the way to reception. Then she said, “Oh, but I gave you my number!” No, my dear, you didn't. I've stayed in countless hotels because my work has me flying back and forth all the time. This was a truly horrible experience.

I usually don't post reviews, but the manager's response to a simple request for better service left me shocked. Though I stayed polite, I was spoken to in a condescending way, as if I was asking for something unreasonable. The rudeness and lack of professionalism were hard to believe. Basic courtesy and respect should be part of hospitality, but I didn't get either here. I won't return, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone who expects decent customer service.
