Bahar Hotel (+12 Adult )

We had such a bad stay that we went to another hotel for the second night, even though we’d already paid in full here. The building is very old, there’s no lift to the upper floors, and the cleanliness was unsatisfactory. The supposedly packed slippers were yellowed or marked with smudges and stains, and the blankets weren’t clean. The bathroom toiletries and water bottles were incomplete, so we had to contact reception multiple times just to get the room sorted. The staff were very unfriendly. Worst of all was the bathroom. The ventilation was awful, and the foul smell built up there and leaked into the room. It felt like breathing straight from a sewage system. This hotel isn’t worth $20 per night, let alone what they charge. Check the other 1-star reviews here, which are from actual customers and accurately reflect the hotel, unlike some fake 5-star ones generated by marketing agencies.

The location is amazing, with a nice sandy public beach just downstairs and a lively boardwalk full of restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and shops. There’s good nightlife there too. Everyone was helpful and the service was wonderful. Breakfast was great every day, laundry was done the same day, and there’s a nice pool and little balconies.

Bahar Hotel is a lovely, quiet oasis, with excellent service that’s consistent, attentive, and unobtrusive. It’s very clean, the pool is a delight, and it’s for guests over 12+. The breakfast buffet is gorgeous and delicious, and the hotel does much better and cheaper breakfasts and lunches than the restaurants nearby. I paid 730TL total for two delicious fresh lunches. Çalis is a bit of a suburb dominated by English retirees. If you want more restaurant choices, Fethiye itself is down the road. Be aware that the local restaurants are overpriced and underwhelming, and the hotel doesn’t serve evening meals, so you may need to travel for dinner. Other than that, I can’t fault the hotel experience.

The location is perfect, about 40 mins from the international airport. The pool is clean, and there was no trouble getting sunbeds or towels. Rooms are basic but have a balcony with two chairs and a view of the pool and sea. Go out the rear exit and you’re straight onto the promenade, lined with restaurants, bars, and shops. The beach is just off the promenade, literally 2 mins from the hotel. Breakfast is the same each day and can get repetitive, and the coffee is basic. Cleaners didn’t replace the shower gel every day, and after cleaning they left our room door wide open. Luckily nothing was nicked! There’s no lift, so good luck carrying a heavy suitcase if you’re on the second floor.
