Körfez Apart

The balcony was wonderful, the bed was comfortable, and the TV was good. The washroom needs better ventilation, but everything else was good. Only the top floors are hotel rooms, and the elevator is tiny, just big enough for luggage. You have to put your bags in, run up four floors, catch your breath, then collect them. It also feels unsafe, since it has no door and you can see the concrete wall as it goes up. Parking was another problem: you have to search the street and need a lot of luck. Check-in and breakfast are both in the hotel next door.

The apartment came with a washing machine, kettle, fridge, dining table and crockery, but no microwave, toaster or iron. The bathroom was very small and an awkward shape. The air conditioning in the main hall didn’t work, the water stopped, and the shower drain was blocked. Reception downstairs, which manages the apartment, said there was a local water problem that day. Parking is a huge issue across this crowded area. Locals and shops reserve spaces early with scooters or pots, and you’re lucky to find somewhere while driving around. One idea is to turn off the main road onto the side streets once the shops end, then walk or take a taxi instead of paying £25 per day for parking. The apartment is close to the port and shopping area, but not the beaches. Fetiye is expensive, including groceries. The room rate was quite high compared with some other apartments that have a pool and parking. The area works well for two to four days if you want boat trips, Oludeniz beach, a day trip to rhodes port, shopping, then to move on to Antalya or somewhere else.

We were able to do laundry in the apartment, which had a washing machine and was clean and well looked after. Our two-bedroom place also had a balcony with beautiful views over Fethiye harbour. The location was convenient, about five minutes from Fethiye old-town. The only drawback was the lack of assigned parking. It took some searching, but we found a spot down the road, around a 10-15 minute walk away.

Korfez had a spacious, clean room, a lovely view, and friendly staff. It was very noisy, the Wi-Fi was very poor, and parking was really difficult.
