Orka Boutique Hotel

There aren’t any food options at the hotel, though there’s a Starbucks-style coffee place downstairs. The area around it gets really noisy. Still, for £100/night, the marina location and the amazing view made it good value for us. The hotel itself is okay, though not the nicest, and at that price I was fine with it.

We had a lovely sea-facing view, with boats and people to watch, and restaurants and shops are an easy walk away. Reception were friendly and very helpful, and the room was a good size with more toiletries than I’d usually expect. The rooms are a little dated, though. We were confused when we arrived because our room was listed with a balcony, but it was a French balcony, so there was no stepping outside. The patio doors opened only a little. If you want a proper balcony, I’d check with the hotel when booking.

Our room had a nice view, though the toilet lighting was dim. There’s private parking, which is handy, but finding the exit is tricky. When you reach the taxi station, turn right, the hotel is behind it. Safak Cafe is right in front of the hotel and serves a really good breakfast.

The taxi drivers were friendly and helped us out, which was useful since finding the hotel and parking was confusing. It’s set back from the road, with lots of taxis parked out front, so just drive through to the entrance. The room was clean, but old and worn. The curtains and sliding door were broken, and the sheets were too small for the bed. Staff were professional, but not very friendly.
