Sunset Beach Club Villas

Getting around was a hassle. The location is poor, and there’s little for American appliances. Even the market on site doesn’t sell American outlet converters. A taxi to Fethiye center costs 40-60 dollars, and it’s upwards of 80 dollars for a large group going to Oludeniz. The bus takes about 40 minutes to the city center. Nearby, we found about two good places to eat. The food was very good, but the city has better meal options, and the bars didn’t know much about making proper drinks. We’d booked one of the larger villas, but lost all power on our first night. The next morning we were told there’d be no power in the villa for the rest of our stay, so they moved us. The replacement apartments were much smaller than what we’d paid for and on opposite sides of the complex. Meeting up or planning in person meant a five minute walk, instead of being together in the villa as booked. I appreciated that they helped us get new rooms, but they used that, and the fact we weren’t left homeless, as a reason not to offer even a partial refund. That was unacceptable, especially during one of the busiest Turkish holidays, when finding another resort on the day of our trip would have been difficult. The man in the office was polite and understanding, but the woman brushed us off and said there’d be no refund. She considered accommodation after their power failure “just” compensation, even though we’d lost a villa with a private pool and got two smaller, separate apartments with no private areas.
