Extenso Hotel

I couldn't relax because the street outside was so noisy, with traffic and honking day and night. Even with the windows open, it was no solution. My room was unbearably hot and stuffy because the hotel's air conditioning wasn't working. I called reception three times before anyone came up. The staff member didn't speak English and used Google Translate to tell me the AC system was broken and I should open the windows. Communication was difficult because of the language barrier, and the room conditions were terrible. A very disappointing stay, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

I booked this hotel for three nights with my family because the listing said it had private parking. On arrival, I asked where to park and was told by the person at the front desk to leave the car on the street because there was no parking. If I'd known, I would never have chosen it. The guy said the street behind the hotel was for guests, but it was full of cars, trucks, and other vehicles. Each time I wanted to use my car, I had to search for a space for 20-30 minutes. On the last night I found a spot in front of the hotel, and the next day the car was scratched. I don't blame the hotel for the damage, but when I asked them to check their cameras and see who did it, they didn't seem to bother. A few days after we left, there was still no answer. There were other problems too. The rooms seemed clean, but after my two-year-old daughter walked around for a few minutes, the bottoms of her socks were black. The rooms were noisy, and even with the windows shut we could hear people talking outside from the fourth floor. Breakfast in the mornings was freezing, so we had to wear our jackets in the restaurant to warm up a little. We asked for an extra towel for our daughter on the first day and requested one several more times at reception, but never got it. To be clear, having to park each time isn't the main issue. When I asked where the hotel's parking was, the person at reception told me the street was where guests parked. Nobody mentioned a private car park with enough capacity for my car. After a year, the hotel still hadn't answered about my concern. I would never stay here again and do not recommend it.

I'd give the location 9/10: it's near the airport, convenience stores, and a few restaurants. The hotel itself comes to 75/100 for me, closer to three stars than the four it claims. I'm from Thailand and may have experienced better there, though even in Turkey I've seen options that seem much better for only a few hundred extra lira. The rooms get 22/30. They're pretty clean, but the decor is basic and sparse, though not bad. There's a table, bathroom, beds, small TV, and fridge, so just the basics. The view isn't much. The bed was pretty good, with a soft pillow, so 4/5 for comfort. Facilities get 27/35: just a small pool and gym, not much but not terrible. Service is 11/15. Most people were friendly, but nobody was available to bring our luggage up, and service was just okay. Food gets 6/10. Breakfast and dinner were middling, with some dishes fine and others not so much. The snacks were good.
