Angel Cave Suite

We left after two nights, even though we knew we'd lose our money. This was a terrible honeymoon stay, booked for us by a travel agency. The room was uncomfortable, the bed awful, and the thin blankets barely kept us warm. See-through curtains gave us no privacy, and the lighting was so dim that the room felt dark and unwelcoming. The bathroom had no door or curtain and nothing to stop water from splashing everywhere. It was a mess, with barely any toilet paper. Cleanliness was shocking too, and they didn't clean the room during our stay. When we told the staff we were leaving early, they seemed not to care at all. We heard other guests had also left for the hotel next door, so it seems we weren't the first to have a terrible experience here. I strongly advise others to avoid this enormous disappointment.

The room was mostly alright, with a good-sized bed and living area, plus a huge bathtub set up with flower petals and candles. I booked the super deluxe room for its tub and view, but there was a peculiar smell that took time to get used to, and we had no hot water on the second day. Other than that, no room issues. The Angel cave suite itself was a good place to stay. The airport pickup and drop-off cost an exorbitant amount. They call it a luxury service, but we rode in a poorly maintained minivan with 12 other people over potholes. I'd recommend arranging your own transport. The complimentary breakfast was poor for the price, with an unappealing choice of bread and other dishes. The tea and coffee were really good, but better Turkish or continental breakfast options would've helped. Language was also a barrier. When we asked for coffee in the middle of the day, the boy just said thanks and left. The manager offered us tourist activities, but the company he arranged for the balloon ride didn't get us to the sunrise. At 150 euros per person, we weren't happy to go up after the sun was out and the other balloons were down. The red and green tour pushed on us wasn't great either. Looking back, I would've used an independent agent to see more places. I'd rate the overall experience just over two stars, but below three.

The cave rooms were the highlight for us. Sleeping inside the rock, with natural stone walls and a cozy feel, was a memorable, almost storybook experience. The rooms looked lovely and were very comfortable, mixing the character of traditional cave dwellings with modern amenities. The staff at Angel Cave Suites were fantastic, friendly, smiling, and ready to help. They arranged tours and shared local tips, and made sure we had what we needed during our stay in Cappadocia. Breakfast was a king-sized feast, with a great range of fresh local food. The woman who prepared it was incredibly sweet and made us feel welcome every morning. We loved our stay at Angel Cave Suites and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Göreme for an authentic Cappadocian feel, warm hospitality, and a unique cave stay.

That rooftop patio had an amazing view, and the Turkish breakfast was included. The staff were friendly and we had a great time. One thing to watch for while sleeping, though, is a small rock falling from the ceiling 🤣 Our first night was in a small room that was cramped and a bit dirty. Thankfully, we switched rooms the next day. Thank you!
