We were a group of three adults and stayed for eight days. The restaurant menu was very limited, which surprised us in a country with such rich cuisine. The sea was clean and calm, though there was a lot of seaweed. Some parts of the beach had so many pebbles that getting in and out of the water was uncomfortable. The beach DJ, on the other hand, played really enjoyable music. Restaurant staff were very friendly and polite, especially Mr. Kadir and a woman with red, curly hair, who both gave excellent service. Our villa felt old and stuffy, and the hotel is in need of renovation. On day four, a family with a very loud child moved into the villa next door. The child often screamed and had tantrums, disturbing other guests, especially when other children at the hotel were calm and well behaved. We told reception that the noise was ruining our vacation. One receptionist, who I believe was Ms. Fatma, seemed more focused on how I expressed my distress than on understanding or trying to resolve the problem. It may have been a communication issue or difficulty expressing herself clearly, but the interaction came across as dismissive and rude. A young male receptionist was dismissive as well. We had contacted him ahead of our departure to ask for lunch boxes, but he didn’t record the request, making our departure unnecessarily stressful. Fortunately, the rest of the stay was more pleasant and a solution was eventually found.

The drive to Sianji, also known as Gardens of Babylon, takes you along narrow, winding roads, but it leads to a hidden gem on the western shore of the Bodrum peninsula. The resort’s affordability alongside its service quality stands out to me, especially as someone who has visited all the major hotels in Bodrum, Marmaris, and Fethiye. Small flaws didn’t take away from an experience that kept me feeling positive throughout my vacation. The rooms, food service, beach, indoor and outdoor pools, spa, and recreational areas are close to excellent. The architecture is the highlight: it brings the hanging gardens to mind and feels almost perfect. Some areas lack maintenance, though. Rusty steel panels on the pool roof, broken villa furniture, and a pool that looks old are minor cosmetic issues. With more polishing, this could be the best hotel in Bodrum, but it would probably cost more, so I don’t mind them.

The winter setting at Sianji is beautiful and peaceful, with lovely nature, sea views, a good location, and a comfortable room. The property has real potential, but the negatives outweighed those positives for us. Our main concern was hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas. The kitchen looked dirty, breakfast didn’t seem fresh, and the cooking quality was poor. There was a strong smell of bad oil at breakfast, which made us think cooking oil might be reused. It was unpleasant and concerning for hygiene and health reasons. We raised the issues with staff several times, but got no clear response or action. Questions were often ignored or left unanswered. The room was also too cold during winter, despite the cold weather outside. Proper heating seems essential for a resort of this category. The bathroom had no soap, shampoo, body wash, or basic toiletries, and repeated requests for these went unanswered. That’s unacceptable for a hotel marketed as a premium wellness resort. Communication was difficult, too. Very few staff spoke English, and most struggled with basic conversation, making it hard to raise concerns, ask questions, or sort things out. For an international resort with guests from abroad, this is a serious service gap. Sianji needs to improve food and kitchen hygiene, breakfast freshness and quality, staff responsiveness, winter heating, basic room amenities, and staff English. Without serious changes to hygiene, service, and communication, the experience falls far below expectations.

The people at Sianji Wellness Bodrum made my solo detox stay feel like a community. I arrived to genuine warmth from staff and guests alike, and unexpectedly left feeling I’d made lifelong friends. There’s a kind, soulful energy here, with health-minded people who look out for each other. It was one of the most uplifting and restorative experiences of my life. The wellness team were exceptional, and the treatments were great. The room views were amazing, though the rooms could use an update: the beds weren’t the most comfortable and the bathrooms showed their age. I loved the spa and massages. Thanks to Ceren for managing the team and looking after all of us with such care and a constant smile. Special thanks to Mümtaz for the massages and for guiding our morning walks. Morning yoga with Dilek in the ocean-facing shala was pure magic ❤️ At the detox restaurant, meals and juices were delicious and creative. Yusuf and Engin remembered guests’ food requirements and made each meal feel personal. They were always around for amusing chats and clearly cared about everyone’s comfort and wellbeing. Sianji left me feeling revitalised, connected, and grateful for the friends I made. It’s a place where you feel seen and supported, and get re-energised from within. My next stay at LifeCo was sadly the complete opposite in care and atmosphere, and couldn’t compare. If you want a warm, authentic detox that nourishes body and soul, go to Sianji. It’s a special place that stays with you.

Halil in the lobby was great, really nice and good at his job. All the staff were great, and the Well being centre was amazing. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, but the private beach is great and taking a taxi to the local town isn’t a problem.
