Contess By Faros

The rooms were a bit cramped for me, with very little room for clothes, shoes and luggage. Still, they had a kettle and fridge, hotel-quality bedding and effective air conditioning, so I slept comfortably. They were cleaned daily and had fresh towels. Wifi was available, mostly downstairs. The views of the sea, sun and mountains were outstanding, and the hotel is close to the beach, bars and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. The beach service was great, and staff cleaned the beach area, beds and tables each evening. Turkish breakfast was OK.

Most of the staff were helpful and good, but the hotel needs a major revamp. The rooms are small, tired and dated, and our shower leaked. The lift kept breaking down, and some people were stuck in it for over an hour. There were a lot of unhappy guests while we were there. The rooms shown in the brochure and online don't look like the real ones. I'd give this place no more than two stars.

We were walking along the beachfront in the evening after a meal and drinks when an older man representing Faros was rude and verbally abusive after we politely declined his invitation to go in. Getting asked into bars and restaurants is normal, but that response was completely out of order. We're here for two weeks and might have visited another night if he hadn't been so rude. Then he blamed the English. Faros, sort your team out. People won't come in with someone like that working there.

The beach and sea views are wonderful, and the rooms, though small, are comfortable. Staff and management are very friendly and helpful. The Turkish breakfast was nice, but cleaners could use a bit more training. They're still having a few teething problems.
