The receptionist explained everything we needed to know, though I’m sorry I can’t remember his name. The hospitality was the best part, and they tried to help us at every step during our one-night stay. Our room was clean, with a bed, sofa, small kitchen, and a private spa about the size of a small jacuzzi. There’s also an indoor pool and Turkish bath on the first floor that you can reserve for your family, though we didn’t use them, so I can’t comment. The hotel is around 20 km from Afyon, and there are a few things to see in the city center, in my opinion. The price was reasonable, and you could stay at least two days. Apart hotel!

The price was very low, the service was good, and the rooms were clean. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. I totally recommend it.
I’ll definitely come back. We had a great experience at Merkur hotel, with clean, modern rooms and great service. They also shared lots of tips on places to visit around the region.
Our room overlooked the Gazlıgöl valley, and the view was beautiful. The woman at reception was really helpful, and the hotel felt like a good option for families or friends. It’s 20 kilometers from the city center, with a shopping center next door and sausage and Turkish delight shops around it. This is a family-run business, and the rooms are clean, though the sulfurous water has a slight smell. Each room has a balcony and a private thermal pool of about 6 square meters that fills in 10 minutes. Ours had a double bed and an L-shaped sofa that pulls out, with space for four. It was set up like a regular 1+1 apartment, with a clothes drying rack, hairdryer, kettle, pots, glasses, pans, cutting board, strainer, and other basics. You can bring your own cooking oil. The toilet was a bit small. There’s a pool and Turkish bath for private use, free if you arrange it with reception. The gym on the second floor wasn’t very well maintained, but it was clean, and they were cleaning it while we were there. Tea and coffee in the room would have been nice.
I spent three days at Mercury Hotel, and it honestly exceeded my expectations. The rooms were clean, and the staff paid close attention to guests. Many thanks to everyone, especially Mr. Mustafa. I hope the hotel keeps thriving.
