Al Khaleej Hotel

I stayed for 10 days and didn't run into any problems. The room was very good, and management was amazing. Give it a try, you might enjoy it.

Only cash is accepted. The room wasn't soundproof, the air conditioning didn't work, and the hotel conditions were very poor and not as advertised. I checked in, then had to cancel right away because of those problems and asked for a refund. They refused until I called the police.

Mr. Sina at reception gave us really useful advice on tourist spots, staying safe, and avoiding overpriced services. We'd read mixed reviews and weren't sure what to expect since the hotel is fairly new, but the service turned out to be very professional and better than we expected. We stayed twice during the trip and found it clean both times, with friendly staff and good communication. The rooms were spotless, with basics like soap and shampoo, plus a complimentary toothbrush. The AC worked well and the shower had great water pressure. The location was handy for Taksim Square, and there were exchange offices nearby with better rates. A solid 10/10, we'd stay again!

We'd stayed in cheaper places before, but I'd never had this many problems. I don't recommend staying here if you don't want to waste your time. We had booked and paid in advance for two rooms for four people, and had a confirmation email and receipt. But staff said their website showed just one room. They told us to come back later in case the site refreshed, without any guarantee we'd get two rooms. After a tense discussion, using a translation app because they barely spoke English, they began trying to sort it out. Even though the problem was with the hotel's website, they told us to call the travel agency. The agency confirmed our booking was for two rooms and called the hotel to explain. Staff picked up at first, then stopped answering. Getting the two rooms took so long that we were exhausted by the time we checked in. The rooms weren't clean, and one was a smoking room despite our booking for a non-smoking room. The AC didn't work properly. We asked for a blanket because it was cold at night, using the translation app, but nobody came. There was far too much hassle. Just a few days earlier, I'd stayed in a much nicer room at another hotel in the same area.
