Azade Premier

The hotel is perfectly placed for walking to Istanbul’s main sights, and we’d happily stay at Azade again when we return. We spent a week there and were especially grateful for the staff’s kindness and excellent service. Chef Ms. Melike, along with our lovely breakfast servers Ms. Gulseren and Ms. Neriman, made our mornings with a wonderful breakfast. Ali and Tolga at the front desk were fantastic too, and the housekeeping team and other staff were caring and professional. We highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful six-night stay and thought it was good value. The staff, from reception to the cleaning team, were warm, helpful and incredible. The hotel is in the heart of Sultanahmet, and breakfast was a highlight, with excellent cappuccinos, a huge range of food and a lovely view from the breakfast room. A couple of practical things: staying on the Azade side means going up and down several steps each day. It wasn’t an issue for us, but could be difficult for someone who has trouble with stairs. There are elevators, though waiting for them can be inconvenient. We visited in early April, when it was around 40-65 degrees Fahrenheit outside, but the older part of the hotel felt very hot. There was no air conditioning at that time of year and no fans. Opening the windows didn’t help much because a train ran until after 11pm, and people talked and smoked outside the room. Fans or year-round air conditioning would have helped. It may be fine in summer when the air is on. I’d recommend the hotel.

The dining hall has an amazing view, and breakfast offered plenty of nice choices. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, and the staff were very kind. We had everything we needed. I’d recommend it without hesitation. Ismail and Martina :)

Dubb, the Turkish restaurant right beside the hotel entrance, was a real part of what made our stay peaceful. It’s casual, very good, and has outdoor seating on a quiet corner. We enjoyed the manti pasta, corbasi lentil soup, beyran lamb soup, adana kebabs and stuffed vine leaves. We stayed at Azade Premier Hotel for four nights, from Oct 28 to Nov 1. The neighborhood right around it was peaceful, and it made a handy base for visiting the big Sultanahmet sights while avoiding the crowds. Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Hippodrome were all easy to reach on foot, and we could choose convenient times to go out and return to our comfortable room for a break. The hotel was very reasonably priced, with friendly staff, a huge breakfast included each morning, and a wonderful rooftop verandah with incredible views of the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorus.
