Beyaz Konaklama

Breakfast was awful. The food seemed old, and the omelette cost extra. I was surprised that the Turkish restaurant staff didn't welcome guests and didn't know the menu. They need much better training. That was a shame because the welcome, room amenities, and facilities were perfect. The location is also very good if you're on a business trip and want to stay near the Tuyap convention center.

It was hard to get by in English. Only the reception desk spoke it fluently, and at the restaurant we had to use a phone translator to communicate. The room was stifling hot, with no window to air it out. The central air conditioning wasn't working, and the hotel only ran the fan mode according to its schedule, when the weather outside was warm.

The hotel is good and well located, but housekeeping had missed the mark. There was still rubbish left by the previous guests when we entered our room.

We'd reserved two rooms by phone well in advance. When we arrived at 2 a.m., the front desk staff member tried to make us pay for three rooms. It felt like outright blackmail. My husband, a native Turkish speaker, had made the reservation in Turkish.
