Delta Hotels by Marriott Istanbul West

The only drawback was the location, which meant some driving, but the paid shuttle was very reliable. I was in Istanbul because my Turkish Airlines flight to Taiwan was overbooked, and staff asked if I was willing to give up my ticket. It turned into a great surprise: I got to see Istanbul the whole next day and had an unexpected little vacation. The hotel service was amazing, the rooms were clean and great, and everyone spoke English. Dinner was amazing, and breakfast was state-of-the-art. I didn't get to have lunch because I was out in the city, but I couldn't have wished for a better stay.

I spent nine days at Delta Hotels Istanbul West, and the quiet setting and good location made for a pleasant stay. My room was spotless, thanks to Miss Ozden Akpinar. The front desk team was always helpful, and Mr. Ilyas Gures at the bar/restaurant gave exceptional attention and service. Kudos to everyone there for the excellent customer service.

The pool felt far too cold to be comfortable, even though its displayed temperature was 27°C. When we asked reception about it, the staff weren't helpful and seemed unwilling to answer. They eventually just said there was a “technical problem,” without explaining further. Communication was difficult too, as the staff didn't speak English. This was disappointing, and clearer communication and better customer service would help.

I was there for several days and had no Wi-Fi the entire time. Staff kept telling me they were fixing it, but nothing changed. I asked for a refund because the problem continued, and they refused. They didn't offer any other compensation either, not even a discount or a goodwill gesture. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend staying here.
