Duck Hotel

The room was about the size of the bed, had no windows, and looked filthy. Nothing seemed functional, and I couldn't wait to leave the next morning. I was lucky to have booked just one night. At check-in, two teenagers were eating pizza and handled my passport with greasy hands straight from their dinner. The room and hotel seemed to get very little maintenance, if any, though the low price made sense once I saw it. This was a complete nightmare, one of the worst rooms I've had while travelling. I'd only book it in an absolute emergency for one short night, and you won't enjoy it.

There's a lovely café in the lobby, and hotel guests get a 10% discount. In Kadikoy, this is a great hotel option: it's right by the T3 railway and about a 10-minute walk from the pier.

For that price, things are fine. The only issue was that the room could have been cleaner. When we checked in, there was a strange smell from some kind of aroma spray, and we couldn't breathe.

It's inexpensive, and okay for an overnight stay, but the place is old, with no windows or properly working AC. Rooms on floors 1 and 2 are cold, while the fifth floor and above are too hot, and the AC can't be adjusted. Some rooms are missing the TV, with wires left hanging, and there are wires dangling from the outlets too. If you're close to the screeching elevator, that's another problem.
