Hagia Sofia Mansions Istanbul Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton

The service, attention from the staff, and room interior were better than I'd expect even at higher-tier Hilton properties. The mansion is beautiful and full of local character, so staying here felt like experiencing authentic Istanbul rather than a standard hotel. It's just a minute from the entrances to Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace, yet the quiet alley made the area feel peaceful and relaxing despite being so central.

The hotel's hammam was under maintenance, but the staff arranged a 10% discount at the incredible Hürrem Sultan Hamamı beside Hagia Sophia. It was an incredible experience. For our anniversary, I arranged balloons, flowers, and small desserts to surprise my wife in the room, with the staff's help. We also booked a private airport transfer in a spacious, fun van for a very reasonable price. Being next to many of Istanbul's historic sights made getting around convenient, and the lobby and room design fit the surroundings perfectly. Definitely a must-stay if you're looking for a great place.

Breakfast came in a beautiful room with a lovely spread. We didn't try the hotel restaurants. Altin deserves credit for the beautifully decorated, clean room. The hotel is very quiet and comfortable for such a central location, and most sights are walkable. Since we booked through a third party, we weren't told the spa and pool were unavailable. We might not have had time to use them anyway, so that's another reason to come back. The hotel can arrange buggies for luggage or a lift to the taxi stand. Ekber also stood out for great customer service. Don't hesitate to book.

The front desk heard we had a 5AM departure for our Cappadocia flight and would miss breakfast. He offered to pack some, and when we declined, he asked if he could at least put coffee and tea in takeaway cups. I've never had that kind of thoughtfulness in all my travels around Europe and the US. Genuine, heartfelt hospitality, and I'd stay again without hesitation. The room was very comfortable, and the service was phenomenal throughout. As a Hilton Diamond member, I had breakfast included. The choices were limited but good, and the service was great. The location is unbeatable: 10 steps from Hagia Sophia's walls, three minutes to Basilica Cistern, five to Blue Mosque, and two tram stops from Grand Bazaar and three from Spice Market. If location matters in Istanbul, this is the place. Highly recommend!
