The alternative apartment we got was badly equipped and below standard. Flying ants came from somewhere unknown in the bathroom, there were fungi problems, no bathroom lock, no stovetop or cooking equipment, a broken bathroom tap, and a bedroom door with a broken handle. With three adults, we had to warn each other before using the bathroom. Those four days were unpleasant, and Taxim First Apart still benefited from our money. Two months before our late July arrival, our Barclaycard statement showed the full amount had been taken under the business name. But when we arrived, the owner, who barely spoke English, denied our booking and said payment hadn't been made, then turned us away. We had booked through Expedia. The owner eventually agreed to help and arranged the alternative place. Taxim First Apart's advertising gave a very misleading impression of what we'd paid for.
