Four Sides Sisli Hotel

The first thing that bothered me was how the staff reacted when my room door was found open. This happened twice, even though I was sure I had pulled it shut and checked it. At first they blamed the soft-close mechanism and said I hadn't closed it properly. Later they suggested housekeeping might have left it open, but after I insisted on seeing the CCTV, the footage showed technical staff had been in the room to repair something. They didn't seem surprised or very concerned, and the issue wasn't handled well. I was frightened someone had entered, and they barely tried to understand that worry. There was another incident with a guest's car, which had been scratched in the hotel parking area. Staff initially denied responsibility, then checked the cameras and found it was their fault. I also heard staff making fun of guests in Turkish and insulting them because they couldn't understand what was being said. Most of the employees seemed young and unserious. Tabigat, who I think is the head receptionist, was warm and welcoming, but seemed too soft with the younger staff. Discipline was clearly lacking. The hotel itself was in poor shape. The rooms, doors and furniture were scratched, dented and looked shabby. The location was good, and breakfast had a decent range. But the corridors and rooms were often noisy, with families visiting one another across several rooms and children shouting, fighting and jumping around, sometimes late in the evening. Many guests seemed to be health tourists or city visitors from West Asia and the Arabian Peninsula, which isn't a complaint in itself, but the noise was a problem. I can't recommend this place. It was one of my worst stays.
