Grand Hyatt Istanbul

The area’s a great base, with shopping, places to eat and drink, and Taksim just a short walk away. The hotel itself is spacious and has everything you need. Check-in was smooth, with friendly, helpful service, and the rooms are big, with huge beds and great bathrooms. There’s plenty at breakfast, including some good Turkish choices. It was too cold for me to use the pool, but I did use the gym. There’s enough equipment for a weights workout, plus lots of cardio machines.

The staff were warm and welcoming, and I liked the garden, pool, spa, and gym. My stay was okay, though there’s quite a bit to improve. The WiFi was really bad, and I think they could get better routers. The rooms already feel due for renovation. For a place called “GRAND Hyatt hotel,” I expected more; the rooms have a 2010 feel. I’d avoid a Bosporus view room because the traffic is very loud and the windows are really dirty.

Everything at Grand Hyatt Istanbul felt well coordinated and focused on guests, thanks in part to the management being present. Reception made check-in easy and pleasant, and the team stayed attentive throughout our visit. The breakfast staff stood out most. They were genuinely warm and went out of their way to accommodate what we needed. The professionalism across both the front office and management made the whole stay smooth and enjoyable.

The hotel is well placed for exploring Istanbul, and the staff were friendly and polite, which we appreciated. The service itself was still very disappointing for a luxury hotel, nowhere near what I’d expect, or even the level of a three-star hotel. The team seemed inexperienced, poorly organized, and unprepared for a busy property. Breakfast was packed every morning, and finding an open table was difficult. Even simple requests took a long time. During the busy periods, there didn’t seem to be any clear plan for managing things. The location is good, but the organization and service need major improvement.
