The staff were good, and the location worked really well for getting around, with the tram, buses, and Yenikapi beach nearby. Breakfast was pretty standard, though the view was nice. I stayed four nights, and the room felt cramped and old, and it didn't look clean. The building itself seemed dated, the elevator was bad, and the bed wasn't comfortable. For the same price, I think you could find a cleaner, more comfortable Turkish-style hotel by going about 700 meters closer to Sultan Ahmet Mosque.

The rooftop breakfast was great, and the receptionist gave amazing service. The room was much smaller than I expected from the photos. It was close to everything, though the area has steep slopes.

The room and bathroom had dirt tucked into the corners, and the linens were old and hadn't been changed. The refrigerator didn't work, the TV was tiny, and when I tried to shower, water wouldn't come through until I opened the shower fitting. The room was very small and shabby, although reception was okay. I paid either €50 or €45, I can't remember which. There are other hotels nearby for that same amount with much better conditions. My friends stayed at SOLIS HOTEL Boutique for the same or less, and they were happy with everything. The room security also seemed really poor, and the door didn't look like it shut properly. The gentleman at reception was kind when we arrived, but when I had a problem his attitude changed and he seemed very bothered. He made me feel as if I was to blame for problems with his hotel. Don't spend your money here.

The room was spacious, and both the WiFi and air conditioning worked well. There wasn't a blackout curtain, though, and sound came through easily. The staff were really helpful and friendly, definitely the best part. The location was very good, with everything you need just a short walk away.

For a cheap hotel in a good area, this is a solid value. It's clean, the service is good, and you're close to a lot of things. The internet was decent too, around 6 Mbps download, better than at some four-star places I've stayed in Istanbul. The owners could improve the WiFi and the toilet facilities.
