Hampton by Hilton Istanbul Atakoy

The breakfast staff pet the cats that wandered around the eating area, then served food without my ever seeing them wash their hands. I like cats, but handling them and then serving breakfast didn’t sit right with me. The food itself was okay, though it was often barely warm rather than hot. Apart from that, there was a lot to like. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, and the staff were very helpful when I needed an extra week in my room to recover from a sinus infection. Pharmacies and grocery stores were only a few minutes away on foot. That breakfast service issue is the reason I gave four stars.

The breakfast was probably the best I’ve had at any Hampton worldwide, with fresh local touches and a big choice of cheeses, olives, vegetables, and Turkish börek. Staff were extremely attentive and friendly, and the rooms were clean and comfortable with useful amenities like a fridge, kettle, and safe. The location around Atakoy is very convenient. Recommended for any occasion.

It’s in a residential neighborhood, quiet but conveniently next door to a mall with restaurants and shops. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the comfortable rooms come with a thorough, very good free breakfast each morning. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

The hot breakfast was disappointing, though there was a huge choice. That was the only downside, and I’d happily stay here again. There are good restaurants nearby and local cafés with tasty, inexpensive food. We got good value for the price, and the room met or exceeded what we expected. The service impressed us too. After I flushed the toilet too forcefully and it kept filling, my friend managed to stop it so we could sleep after arriving at 2.00 in the morning. Housekeeping spotted the fault and reported it before we did, then maintenance came to fix it. Reception also made it easy to use the excellent trains and arranged taxis efficiently for business and airport transfers.
